Warsaw Village Band present a repertoire consisting of avant-garde interpretations of traditional Polish music, the broadly understood area of Mazovia, the beloved land of Chopin. Despite being faithful to the traditional techniques of playing and singing, the inventive performances of old pieces sound surprisingly avant-garde and are fully understandable to a modern audience. Although in the band’s instrumentation we hear traditional instruments – violins, cymbals, barabans – they sound exceptionally modern and the musicians are not afraid to combine them with, for example, DJs.
The band has won many awards at Polish and foreign folk festivals and in 2004 BBC Radio 3 awarded the group with the Awards for World Music in the “Newcomer” category.
The band received many prestigious awards in Poland and abroad being nominated for the American music industry award – Grammy also receiving the “Top of the World Album” from British Songlines and second place in World Music Charts Europe. They worked with international directors on music compositions to theatre performances, manga series, and other productions.

Kapela ze Wsi Warszawa prezentuje repertuar składający się z awangardowych interpretacji tradycyjnej muzyki polskiej, szeroko rozumianego obszaru Mazowsza, ukochanej krainy Chopina. Mimo wierności tradycyjnym technikom gry i śpiewu, pomysłowe wykonania dawnych utworów brzmią zaskakująco awangardowo i są w pełni zrozumiałe dla współczesnego odbiorcy. Choć w instrumentacji zespołu słyszymy tradycyjne instrumenty – skrzypce, cymbały, barabany – brzmią one wyjątkowo nowocześnie i muzycy nie boją się łączyć ich np. z DJ-ami.
Zespół zdobył wiele nagród na polskich i zagranicznych festiwalach folklorystycznych, a w 2004 roku BBC Radio 3 przyznało grupie Awards for World Music w kategorii „Newcomer”.
Zespół otrzymał wiele prestiżowych nagród w Polsce i za granicą będąc nominowanym do nagrody amerykańskiego przemysłu muzycznego – Grammy otrzymując również „Top of the World Album” od British Songlines oraz drugie miejsce na World Music Charts Europe. Pracowali z międzynarodowymi reżyserami i kompozytorami nad muzycznymi kompozycjami do spektakli teatralnych, seriali manga i innych produkcji.
