Easter Tree of Hope is a joint initiative of Inisowiacy Polish Folk Group, Clare Immigrant Support Centre and the Polish Arts Festival Limerick that aims to allow local people to decorate their own Easter egg in a Slavic style and hang the decoration at a specially designated tree at Waterpark House in Ennis and People’s Park in Limerick. This way the community can celebrate togetherness while being apart in isolation.
The initiative includes two online videos demonstrating how you can decorate your own egg by traditional methods and a video exploring Easter tradition in Eastern Europe, including Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic and Slovakia as well as the Irish traditions.
We invite you to watch the video and decorate your own egg at home and then when you are on your walk in the park you might hang your egg on a designated tree and enjoy the community spirit in these difficult times for us all.
